Blue Economy
For a school assignement we had to make a work about the blue economy. This could be any aspect, anything.
I chose to make an installation about the different reactions people have about the blue economy.
At first confusion, because no one has ever heard of it, then either positivity and hope of a chance to make things better,
irritation and doom thought for our dying environment, or nothing.
Each response is shown in an abstract animated video, shown on different walls in the same room, with headphones for each video.
This way the audience could experience them all at once, feeling the confusing mess that it all is.
Bright -
A positive outlook and hope the blue economy can bring change to our environmental issues. Can sometimes be a bit much.
Destructive -
Anger at the state of the world. Irritation at another futile attempt to make anything better. What can one person really do, for a problem this big?
Empty -
Nothing. No response, no interest. This is something that they don’t have to take part in.
